Child Support

Child Support is governed by the Child Support Standards Act (CSSA), which is a formula that establishes the presumptive amount of child support to be paid to the custodial parent.

In New York State, the amount of child support is determined by the income of both parties and the number of children. The amount of child support paid may vary from the formula based upon payments and costs associated with health insurance, child care, educational expenses and maintenance.
